Greenville Manufacturing Plant Installations
Environmental Design
THE ASK
The Whirlpool plant in Greenville, Ohio is the original and historical location of KitchenAid Stand mixer and other small appliance manufacturing. In an effort to motivate employees, my team was asked to create a space in the main hallway, main entrance foyer of the plant, and a few mobile displays that showcase Safety Protocols, Goals, Live Progress Status, and Management Communications.
The design of the space and the other assets should follow existing campaigns that relate to the plant. A visual combination of multiple campaigns can be challenging but is important so that employees see a relationship to the training they have received and the messaging within the work environment.
THE SOLUTION
A series of wall vinyls, large scale hanging banners, and custom furniture provide an immersive experience in which the Greenville plant prides itself on its heritage, employee connected progress and strong ties to Whirlpool Corporations global mission statement, “In constant pursuit to improve life at home.”
A primary use of grey and blue ground the creative in the corporate whirlpool brand style while providing an emphasis on KitchenAid with pops of red and hand written script. This space has been received well by management and employees. It has recently been used to showcase new products during manufacturing audits, celebrate employee appreciation, and provides a comfortable space for employees to collaborate.
My Role: Research & concept development, Mockup creation, Present work to ADC and Team. Client collaboration. Asset file production, Dimension and Specification details, collaboration with production specialist on substrates, Installation processes and custom furniture construction. Creation of installation guide for vinyl vendor and client.
